The International Menéndez Pelayo University (UIMP) will host Port Week from September 3 to 6 at the Palacio de La Magdalena. During these days, key topics such as the inclusion of women in ports, port-city relations, energy efficiency, and change management will be discussed. This event, promoted and organized by the Port Authority of Santander (APS), the UIMP, and Puertos del Estado, is positioned as a summer school aimed at inspiring new ideas and analyzing the current challenges of the port sector.
César Díaz, president of the APS, emphasized the importance of reflecting on the major challenges faced by the sector, highlighting the need to share experiences and foster dialogue about industry concerns. According to Díaz, the main objective of Port Week is to create a space for knowledge exchange that positively impacts the sector.
Port Week aligns with the creation of the Port Corporate University, one of the key elements of the modernization strategy driven by Puertos del Estado. This initiative aims to offer training programs adapted to the current needs of ports, in accordance with the Strategic Framework of the General Interest Port System.
The event will be structured into short sessions featuring presentations by prominent experts, designed to update and transform the perspectives that guide port operations and decision-making. The courses are intended for leaders, executives, and professionals from the port and logistics sector, both public and private, as well as researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and startups interested in the industry.
